Types of car insurance
The choices? Third party or comprehensive?
Well there’s third party, the minimum type of cover acceptable, which covers you for;
Injuring other people on the road whether passengers or pedestrians.
Damage by your car to someone else’s property.
Damage caused by a trailer or anything attached to your car.
Damage caused to your car by fire or replacing it if it is stolen.
Then there’s a comprehensive insurance policy. An advisable option – it can be more expensive but it’s not always the case, it really depends on your circumstances. You can’t put a cost on peace of mind, and unfortunately bad accidents can happen and the consequences can be devastating, so think carefully before you just look at how much to pay.
A comprehensive policy covers you for;
The cost of injuring other people including others in your car.
Damage by your car to someone else’s property.
Damage caused by a trailer or anything attached to your car.
Theft or fire damge.
The cost of replacing items stolen from your vehicle or otherwise damaged
The cost of repairs to your vehicle by “accidental damage”
Compensation and medical claims if you are killed, injured or handicapped while driving (this can also be applicable to passengers in the car as well)
